Xiaomi has officially opened the "Wuhan Xiaomi Youth Apartment" housing complex for its employees in Wuhan, China. This marks Xiaomi's third employee housing development, following similar projects in Beijing and Nanjing. The company now has 12 built apartment complexes totaling 210,000 square meters, providing over 4,200 housing units.
The Wuhan complex, situated within the Xiaomi Wuhan Science Park, consists of three buildings with a total construction area of 50,000 square meters. The units are offered in two main configurations: 960 units of 26 square meters and approximately 30 units of 30 square meters. The average monthly rent is set at 1,099 yuan, inclusive of central heating and internet services. The selection process began with Xiaomi's 2026 campus recruits, and it is now open to all current Xiaomi employees in Wuhan.
Xiaomi aims to enhance employee well-being by creating a supportive environment for growth and development. The apartments are furnished with appliances from Xiaomi and its ecosystem partners, including air conditioning, washing machines, refrigerators, water heaters, and smart locks. In addition, the complex features shared amenities such as a communal kitchen, a billiards room, a small gym, a reading area, a game zone, and a cinema room, all available to residents free of charge.
Improvements in the Wuhan facility include enhanced soundproofing and increased storage space, reflecting an engineering approach to resident comfort. The Wuhan headquarters is a significant R&D hub for Xiaomi, currently employing over 9,000 people, primarily in research and development roles, with plans for further expansion.
