Xiaomi is set to launch its new Redmi K100 smartphone on October 27. The company confirmed the device will sport a large 6.83-inch screen with an upgraded 165Hz refresh rate. It will also feature a 480Hz multi-finger touch reporting rate, designed to enhance responsiveness for gaming.
Further display specifications include a 3500Hz instantaneous touch sampling rate and a peak brightness of 3500 nits. The screen incorporates Xiaomi's Clear Eye Protection 4.0 technology. The phone is designed to support over 40 games at 165 frames per second natively.
Under the hood, the Redmi K100 is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. A notable addition to the standard version is the inclusion of a dedicated D2 graphics chip for gaming. This is expected to improve performance and efficiency, with early reports indicating a reduction in average power consumption during intensive gaming sessions.
The device will ship with Xiaomi HyperOS 4, based on Android 14. The new operating system aims to provide more precise system resource management and memory pre-loading for smoother application performance. Xiaomi has also revealed a new color option for the K100, named "Flowing Green."
