Xiaomi releases first heat pump washer-dryer combo
Xiaomi has launched its first combined washing and drying machine utilizing heat pump technology. The appliance offers a 13kg wash capacity and 9kg drying capacity, priced at 5881 yuan.
Chinese technology company Xiaomi has released its first washer-dryer combo unit that features heat pump technology. The appliance, branded as the Mi Home Washer Dryer Pro Supreme Edition, became available on Xiaomi's official platforms on September 28, with a retail price of 5881 yuan (approximately $800 USD).
The new machine boasts a 13kg washing capacity and a 9kg drying capacity, fitting within a standard appliance footprint. Xiaomi states that the heat pump system recycles heat to significantly reduce drying energy consumption, claiming it uses 73% less energy than traditional condenser washer-dryers.
The unit is equipped with Xiaomi's dual-fan heat pump system, which the company asserts enhances drying speed by 49% and heat exchange capacity by 59%. It also features a lint and debris collection system with a high-density double-layer filter. The machine offers 35 different wash and dry programs, alongside 11 specialized care programs.
Additionally, the product incorporates Xiaomi's "Super Electrolytic" technology, which is said to effectively remove 20 types of stubborn stains and restore whiteness to yellowed garments. The cold water wash function with this technology reportedly achieves a 99% sterilization rate. An intelligent wash system, powered by proprietary algorithms and large language models, provides personalized recommendations for optimal wash cycles and parameters based on fabric type, color, and detected stains.
