Xiaomi has launched its "Xiaomi Smart Door Lock 5C Cat Eye Version," offering 11 different unlocking methods. The new smart lock is available for 999 yuan.
Chinese technology news outlet IT Home reports that Xiaomi has released its "Xiaomi Smart Door Lock 5C Cat Eye Version," priced at 999 yuan (approximately $137 USD).
The smart lock features an upgraded automatic locking mechanism that engages when the door is closed. It incorporates an enhanced peephole camera system designed to detect and record people lingering at the door. Remote unlocking capabilities are also included, alongside a total of 11 distinct unlocking methods. These encompass AI fingerprint recognition, password entry, unlocking via WeChat Mini Program, Mijia APP (Bluetooth/remote), and mechanical keys. Optional unlocking methods include using Xiaomi phones, smartwatches, wristbands, or NFC cards.
The device's lock body is designed with an integrated clutch and a C-class cylinder that passes through the door, aiming to prevent unauthorized access if the front panel is tampered with or the handle is manipulated. Sensors detect lock abnormalities and alert users if the door is ajar. The built-in AI peephole camera boasts a 1-megapixel sensor with a 160-degree wide-angle view, capable of detecting human presence and sending notifications. It supports cloud storage for three days and features low-light color night vision, switching to black-and-white in complete darkness.
Power for the lock is supplied by a dual-mode system, utilizing a rechargeable lithium battery and standard dry batteries as a backup. The lithium battery is estimated to last five months, while the dry batteries offer around six months of operation. A Type-C port is provided for emergency power. The Xiaomi Smart Door Lock 5C also integrates with Xiaomi's smart home ecosystem, allowing for linkage with other devices.
