Xiaomi Releases OTA 1.17 Update for YU7 Electric Vehicle

Chinese technology firm Xiaomi has rolled out its OTA 1.17 software update for the YU7 electric vehicle model. The update focuses on improving the car's driver-assistance capabilities and smart cabin functionalities, introducing several new features and optimizations.
The updates to the vehicle's driver assistance include a new parking assist feature that allows for parking in unmarked spots by drawing a target space on the central screen. Driving assistance has been refined with smoother acceleration and deceleration control strategies, optimized lane selection in urban and highway scenarios, and improved speed control on high-curvature turns. A new rearward collision warning function has also been added, along with enhanced forward collision avoidance performance, especially in low-visibility weather conditions.
For the smart cabin, the update brings new entertainment options, such as the addition of a new music application, and improvements to the "Super Xiao Ai" voice assistant. Parking modes have been optimized, and charging functionalities have been expanded to include detailed statistics and estimated electricity costs via the Xiaomi Auto app. The user interface and safety features have also been updated, including customizable child seat position reminders and enhanced safety protocols for the zero-gravity seats.
Additional features implemented in the update include automatic activation of the rear fog light in rainy conditions and a steering wheel centering reminder. The charging infrastructure has also seen improvements with remote control and automatic resume capabilities for home charging stations. All variants of the Xiaomi YU7 model will receive these updates.
