IT Home reported on September 2nd that Xiaomi has launched its new smart plug, the Xiaomi Smart Plug 4. This latest iteration enhances connectivity by incorporating Wi-Fi 6 support, allowing for direct remote control without the need for an external gateway. The product is set to begin its crowdfunding phase on September 9th with a price of 49 yuan, while its recommended retail price is 59 yuan.
Measuring 52x41x57.6mm, the Xiaomi Smart Plug 4 operates on the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 6 band. It features updated safety standards for its plug design, ensuring compatibility with various power outlets. The device also offers detailed energy consumption monitoring, displaying statistics on a daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly basis.
Integrated into the Xiaomi ecosystem via the Mi Home app, the smart plug enables users to create custom automation scenarios and manage multiple devices centrally. It also supports local operation functionalities, such as scheduled power cuts and countdown timers, which continue to function even during network outages.
Furthermore, the physical button on the plug can be configured through the app for quick access to features like timed power-off, eliminating the need to use a smartphone for immediate control. The Xiaomi Smart Plug 4 aims to provide enhanced convenience and energy management for connected home appliances.
