Chinese technology giant Xiaomi has implemented organizational changes affecting its AI assistant, Xiao Ai. The adjustments aim to refine the development and integration of its artificial intelligence capabilities across the company's product ecosystem.

Following the restructuring, Xiao Ai's technical architecture will be segmented into three primary modules. The foundational model capabilities will be managed by the MiMo base large model team, led by Luo Fuli. Luan Jian will oversee the "cloud-side" development, including the engineering and integration of these large models into external systems.

Responsibility for "edge-side" capabilities, which were previously handled by the Xiao Ai product team, will now be transferred to the operating system teams within Xiaomi's mobile, automotive, and other sub-business units. This move signals a strategic shift to embed AI functionalities more directly into specific hardware.

As part of these strategic adjustments, Wang Gang, who formerly led the Xiao Ai initiative, has been reassigned to the company's robotics business. Wang Gang had been in charge of Xiao Ai's development for nearly a decade.

Xiao Ai, upgraded to "Super Xiao Ai" last year, is central to Xiaomi's "people-manned, car, home all-ecosystem" strategy. The company previously indicated that "miclaw," an AI interaction product based on the MiMo large model, would be integrated into Xiao Ai to enhance its intelligence.
