At the Xiaomi Tech Summit held in Beijing on July 30, Xiaomi founder, chairman, and CEO Lei Jun unveiled the new Longjia battery system. Xiaomi stated that the system's safety standards surpass national Chinese regulations.

This development could signify a new benchmark in battery safety for the automotive industry, particularly within China's rapidly evolving EV sector.

The Longjia battery system is described as a solution led by Xiaomi Auto, with Xiaomi responsible for product definition, battery pack design, and development. The company also participates in cell design and development and manages the entire quality control process.

According to the company, the battery pack is optimized for range-extended vehicles, considering cell materials, structure, and manufacturing processes. During development, simulations included 300,000 kilometers of durability testing, fast charging, and high-speed driving scenarios. The battery pack also features an 18-layer protective structure for enhanced safety and resilience.
