Xiaomi unveils Xring O3 processor amid in-house chip development
Xiaomi has introduced its second in-house smartphone processor, the Xring O3, aiming for greater control over key components and reduced reliance on external suppliers.
Xiaomi has unveiled the Xring O3, its second smartphone processor developed internally. This move is part of the company's strategy to gain more control over critical components and lessen its dependence on outside manufacturers.
The chip is expected to be produced by TSMC using a 3-nanometer process. Xiaomi previously announced that devices featuring its first in-house processor, the Xring O1, have surpassed one million cumulative shipments.
In addition to the Xring O3, Xiaomi has also contracted TSMC to manufacture its Xring O100 AI chip and the Xring D100 chip designed for autonomous driving. These developments highlight Xiaomi's ongoing commitment to strengthening its internal technological capabilities and supply chain management.
