Xiaomi's smart factory in Wuhan has reached a significant milestone, welcoming its 20,000th visitor. The achievement was reported by IT Home, citing a post from Shan Lianyun, General Manager of Xiaomi's large home appliance department.
The 20,000th visitor was identified as Maria Antonina, a student from Belarus, who toured the facility with a group from Wuhan University's Eurasian youth cultural research camp. Shan stated that the factory has so far hosted 354 international visitors from a total of 13 countries, and that the company is continuously refining its industrial tourism experience.
The Wuhan smart home appliance factory officially opened for public visits in March 2026. It allows visitors to experience Xiaomi's comprehensive smart home appliance manufacturing system, from research and development to production. This facility is noted as Xiaomi's first self-built smart home appliance factory and plays a key role in the company's manufacturing strategy.
The first phase of the factory involved an investment of 2.5 billion yuan and produces a range of smart home appliances including air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines. The facility reportedly utilizes Xiaomi's proprietary "Pengpai" intelligent manufacturing platform, incorporating digital twin technology and AI for production optimization. It features over 130 AI-powered visual inspection systems and advanced logistics, including a transport system using magnetic levitation technology.
