Xioami Auto's Chief Technology Officer Hu Zhengnan has described the development process for the new Päng Chéng N90 model as a career-defining experience. Unlike traditional automotive development, the Päng Chéng N90 was designed starting with user scenarios and interior functional requirements, with exterior design 'hard points' determined subsequently. This marks a shift in the company's approach to vehicle creation.

The Päng Chéng N90 is positioned as a 'Smart Variable Space SUV' under Xioami's new automotive brand, Päng Chéng, officially launched in early July. The company emphasizes that the interior's flexibility allows it to adapt to various uses, such as a mobile office, meeting room, or cafe. The core principle guiding the design was to start with specific use cases and functions, then balance these with the designers' vision.

The development also placed significant emphasis on mechanical design, functional safety, and anticipated functional safety, with multiple considerations integrated into this single vehicle for the first time. The interior's adaptability is highlighted as a key feature.
