XPENG appoints country manager for South Korea market entry

XPENG has hired automotive industry veteran Lee Man-sik to lead its upcoming entry into the South Korean market.

3 November 2026

Electric vehicle manufacturer XPENG has named Lee Man-sik as managing director of its South Korean operations, effective December 1, 2026. The appointment signals the firm’s intent to enter the South Korean automotive market, which remains one of the most competitive in Asia.

Lee brings 30 years of industry experience to the role, having previously held senior positions at Volvo Cars Korea. His background spans product strategy, brand development, and service network management. Lee will oversee the establishment of XPENG's commercial foundation, including sales channels and strategic partnerships within the country.

XPENG’s expansion into South Korea follows a period of rapid international growth. The company reported 50,237 global vehicle deliveries in October 2026, marking a monthly record. Overseas shipments have significantly contributed to this growth, rising 166% year-on-year.

While the company has confirmed the appointment, it has yet to disclose a timeline for official sales or a specific vehicle launch date. The firm currently operates in 83 countries and continues to prioritize its international footprint as part of its global strategy.
