Chinese electric vehicle maker XPeng has announced the completion of trial production for its first G9L model manufactured locally in Europe. The vehicle rolled off the production line at Magna Steyr's facility in Austria on October 7.
The G9L is scheduled for a global launch on October 12 and is expected to be available in 64 countries and regions. The model was previously showcased at the Paris Motor Show. In its home market of China, the G9L was launched on September 17, with prices ranging from 231,800 to 299,800 yuan.
Magna Steyr's plant in Graz has a long-standing reputation for producing high-end vehicles. This collaboration with the global automotive manufacturing services provider is a key step in XPeng's strategy for European market expansion.
In China, the G9L is offered with both fully electric and extended-range powertrains, positioned as a "golden five-seat technology flagship."
