Xpeng MONA L03 Orders Outpace Deliveries, Production Ramps Up
Xpeng's MONA L03 electric vehicle continues to see daily order volumes significantly exceeding deliveries, as the company reports notable improvements in production capacity.
Chinese automaker Xpeng has reported significant recent increases in production capacity for its MONA L03 electric vehicle.
On August 30, Xpeng Vice President Thomas Zhao stated that daily orders for the MONA L03 continue to far exceed delivery volumes. He noted that production capacity has seen marked improvements in recent days.
Earlier in August, Jiang Wen, head of MONA development, indicated that July was a period of low-volume ramp-up. August production faced challenges due to global chip shortages, impacted by high demand in advanced manufacturing for AI applications. Xpeng has since overcome these supply chain issues and implemented double-shift production, nearly doubling efficiency for the month.
The company anticipates reaching full maximum production capacity in September and October. The MONA L03, the first global model in Xpeng's MONA series, is offered in both pure electric and range-extended hybrid variants for domestic and international markets.
The MONA L03 officially launched on July 16, with prices starting at 123,800 yuan. The model features hundreds of distinct SKUs (stock-keeping units) across its configurations, leading to minor variations in production progress, but the company aims to ensure delivery timelines are met.
