XPENG opens vehicle platforms, chips and engineering tools to global partners
XPENG is making its proprietary vehicle technologies and engineering capabilities available to global partners. The company is extending its technology partnerships across vehicle development and production.
Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer XPENG has announced it will open its proprietary vehicle platforms, electrical and electronic architecture, batteries, electric drivetrains, and engineering tools to global partners through its XPENG AI Engineering business.
Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng detailed the initiative at the Paris Automotive Summit, aiming to expand technology collaborations in vehicle development and production. Partners will also gain access to XPENG's AI technologies, including its AI BOX, Turing AI chip, and a physical-world foundation model.
XPENG stated that this approach allows partners to jointly develop differentiated products while building their own technical capabilities. The company cited its existing collaboration with Volkswagen as an example, combining XPENG’s software and intelligent-driving technologies with Volkswagen’s vehicle engineering and testing expertise.
