Xpeng releases MONA L05 SUV

Xpeng launched the MONA L05 on October 29, marking the addition of its first five-seat SUV to the lower-priced MONA model series. The vehicle is offered in two configurations: a battery-electric version and an extended-range model designed to bridge the gap between electric and traditional internal combustion vehicle capabilities.

The battery-electric variant provides a CLTC-rated range of up to 635 kilometers. The extended-range model delivers a 310-kilometer electric-only range, with a combined total range reaching 1,310 kilometers. Xpeng stated that the vehicle was engineered with international markets in mind, intended for adaptation across 65 countries and regions.

Equipped with a vision-based assisted-driving system, the vehicle utilizes Turing AI chips to manage processing tasks, with the Ultra SE trim level integrating two chips for increased capacity. Production has already commenced, with the company confirming that the initial batch of 5,000 units is ready for immediate allocation.

While the official list price starts at 144,800 yuan, a promotional launch offer reduces the entry price to 139,800 yuan. This release represents a strategic effort by Xpeng to capture a larger share of the mass-market segment as it scales its production and distribution capabilities.
