XPENG to Integrate Google Play into AI-Powered Cockpits

XPENG is expanding its partnership with Google to bring Google Play directly into its AI-powered vehicle cockpits. The integration aims to offer a wider selection of apps and enhance the in-car user experience.

15 October 2026

XPENG, a manufacturer focused on AI technology in vehicles, has announced an expanded collaboration with Google. This new agreement will see the Google Play app store integrated directly into XPENG's AI-powered vehicle cockpits.

The integration will allow drivers and passengers access to hundreds of third-party applications, including streaming services, navigation tools, and games, directly through the car's infotainment system. The goal is to provide a richer and more localized user experience that complements XPENG's existing intelligent features. This rollout is scheduled for early 2027.

This move builds on XPENG's previous work with Google, which included integrating Google Maps into its vehicles. The new Google Play integration is expected to facilitate the continuous evolution of in-car digital services without the need for major over-the-air updates.

With Google Play, XPENG users will be able to download and utilize apps for music, video, navigation, and other services. The company has also indicated plans to continue its collaboration with Google to further enhance the digital services offered within its vehicles.
