Xposed module bypassing Bilibili restrictions removed after legal notice
The popular BiliRoaming module, which removed regional restrictions for Bilibili's paid anime content, has been removed from GitHub after its developer received a legal notice from Bilibili.

The widely used BiliRoaming module, an Xposed framework tool designed to circumvent regional restrictions on paid anime content on China's Bilibili platform, has been taken down. The project's code has been completely removed from its GitHub repository following the developer's receipt of a legal notice from Bilibili.
Bilibili's legal representatives have formally demanded that the developer of BiliRoaming immediately cease all infringing activities. This includes halting data scraping, parsing, code adaptation, updates, and public dissemination related to Bilibili's platform content. The developer is also required to delete all associated code, patches, scripts, and documentation.
BiliRoaming had gained significant traction, accumulating over 11,400 stars on GitHub. The module was used by users to access geographically restricted or premium anime series that would otherwise be unavailable. It also offered several minor supplementary features.
The notice from Shanghai Hongan Law Firm, representing Bilibili, states that BiliRoaming's actions constituted copyright and unfair competition violations. These actions included reverse-engineering Bilibili's non-public interfaces, authentication systems, and access control mechanisms, enabling access to restricted content and potentially increasing risks of unauthorized data access and resource abuse. Bilibili has reserved all rights to pursue further legal action.
