Xreal lowers price for Aura AR headset to $1,099
Xreal has reduced the retail price of its Aura augmented reality glasses to $1,099, marking a price cut ahead of the product's official launch.

Xreal has announced that its new Aura augmented reality glasses will retail for $1,099 through the end of the year. This represents a significant decrease from the $1,279 preorder price established last month. The device, which functions as a 95-gram tethered headset, utilizes an Android-based compute unit to generate virtual screen environments for users.
The price adjustment places the device in a more competitive position against established hardware, such as Meta’s augmented and virtual reality offerings. Industry analysts note that price sensitivity remains a major factor in consumer adoption of XR hardware, with the $1,000 threshold often serving as a psychological barrier for mass-market hardware.
Technically, the Aura hardware emphasizes a wide field of view for its transparent display capabilities. By tethering the glasses to a secondary compute puck, the company aims to reduce the weight worn on the user's face, a common challenge for manufacturers in the sector.
The hardware is available for purchase immediately. Current pricing remains effective through the remainder of the calendar year.
