Cyprus-based Xryma Plc is set to launch its euro-denominated electronic money token (EMT), XrymaCoin (XREUR), on September 3, 2026. The company has notified the Central Bank of Cyprus, its regulatory supervisor, about the planned issuance.
The XrymaCoin is designed as an electronic payment instrument and will be issued in accordance with Article 51 of the Markets in Crypto-Assets (MiCAR) regulation. Xryma Plc submitted its Whitepaper and notifications regarding the token's custody and transfer features to the Central Bank of Cyprus in June and July 2026.
Described by Xryma Plc's Group CEO Nikogiannis (John) Karantzis as a truly cross-border solution, XrymaCoin aims to redefine stablecoin usage. The token integrates Xryma's Paidby® Mastercard capabilities, SEPA Instant payments, and the European Central Bank's T2 RTGS system.
Xryma Plc operates as an EEA-authorised electronic money institution supervised by the Central Bank of Cyprus. The company recently listed on Euronext Paris under the ticker XRY. It is noted that the crypto-asset whitepaper has not been approved by any EU competent authority, and Xryma Plc bears sole responsibility for its content.
