Y Combinator offers free AI tools to students

Y Combinator has launched the "YC AI Stack" program, providing students with access to free AI development tools and cloud service credits. The initiative includes over $20,000 in credits for cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services, plus more than $5,000 in credits for large language models such as GPT, Claude, and Grok.

The program also offers credits for tools focused on voice, browser automation, video generation, and databases. Y Combinator aims to enable students to experiment with the latest AI technologies without out-of-pocket expenses. The stack features offerings from 14 companies within the Y Combinator portfolio.

"We want to see students use these tools to experiment with and build new ideas without worrying about the cost," Y Combinator stated. The organization provided examples of potential applications, such as creating market research tools using Firecrawl and Exa, or developing a voice assistant with Vapi and Browser Use.

The program is currently available to students attending Y Combinator university events starting in Fall 2025. Eligible participants will receive follow-up instructions via email after their event. Y Combinator plans to expand the program to more students in the coming year.
