Yes Captain Created NodeFest 2025 Opening Video in Three Weeks Using Cinema 4D
Motion design studio Yes Captain unexpectedly produced the opening video for NodeFest 2025 under a tight deadline. They utilized Cinema 4D's viewport rendering and a minimalist color palette to achieve a preview-like aesthetic.

Motion design studio Yes Captain successfully created the opening video for the NodeFest 2025 event in three weeks under pressure. After the original studio withdrew at the last minute, Yes Captain took over the assignment while simultaneously organizing the entire event.
Yes Captain decided to embrace the time constraint by creating a video that mimicked a preview or animatic. The team primarily used Cinema 4D's real-time viewport rendering and a minimalist color palette aligned with the festival's theme. They also leveraged Sparc3D for rapid 3D model generation and DaVinci Resolve and Fusion for editing and compositing.
"It's incredible what you can get out of Cinema 4D's viewport rendering," stated James Cowen of Yes Captain. This approach allowed for quick iteration and experimentation with new ideas and shot designs.
NodeFest was founded in Australia in 2015 in response to a lack of similar events in the region. It has grown into a significant industry gathering, referred to as the motion design industry's "Christmas party." Yes Captain, active in motion design since 2015, has previously worked with clients such as Specsavers and Luna Park.
