Finnish construction company YIT has secured a contract with atNorth, an Iceland-based data center services provider, for the design and construction of a new data center in Myllykoski, Kouvola. The facility will be part of atNorth’s FIN04 data center campus.
The project's value for YIT is approximately EUR 300 million, and it will be recorded in the company's order book for the third quarter of 2026. YIT will undertake the project as a comprehensive design-build contract, including design, civil, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP), and commissioning works.
Construction is set to begin immediately at the Myllykoski industrial site. This project is significant for YIT and underscores Finland's growing role as a hub for data infrastructure in the Nordic region. The new data center is intended to meet the increasing demand for high-performance computing capacity.
The development aligns with atNorth's strategic expansion plans in the Nordic market, aiming to scale its infrastructure to support the growing need for data processing and storage solutions.
