Young Ukrainian Athlete Sets Record with 250 Weighted Pull-Overs
Ukrainian youth Filip Nagorny completed 250 pull-overs with weighted legs, officially verified by the National Register of Records of Ukraine. The feat is part of a broader peace initiative.

Lausanne, Switzerland – On the day the United States marked its 250th anniversary, young Ukrainian athlete Filip Nagorny completed 250 pull-overs on a horizontal bar, each performed with 1 kg weights strapped to each leg. The record was officially verified by the National Register of Records of Ukraine.
Nagorny's achievement is part of the "Peace for Children" international humanitarian initiative, operating under the motto "Strength Without Violence." The initiative aims to send a message of peace and resilience, highlighting the challenges faced by Ukrainian children due to the ongoing war. "Behind Filip stand millions of Ukrainian children whose childhood unfolds under air-raid sirens," stated the announcement.
Filip Nagorny described the effort as difficult, particularly towards the end, but emphasized his motivation to support other children in Ukraine. "I wanted to show everyone: we children are strong, and we believe in peace. This record isn't mine. It belongs to all of us kids," he said. His mother, Ilona, expressed pride in his accomplishment and his dedication to peace.
The "Peace for Children" initiative is founded on values of Faith, Hope, Kindness, and Peace, with plans to culminate in the presentation of a handmade "Book of Peace" at the Vatican in 2026. The organizers, Ukraine Volunteers Foundation and Rotary Club Madrid Intercontinental Passport, are now inviting partner organizations in Europe and the United States.
Future record attempts within the initiative include a 100-minute plank hold, 1,000 repetitions of abdominal machine trunk raises, and a 10-meter rope climb without using the legs. Organizations that share the belief in raising strong, resilient children are encouraged to collaborate.
