YouTube Premium subscribers will gain access to the Peacock Premium streaming service as part of their existing subscription beginning early next year. This new offering combines content from two major platforms, aiming to enhance value for YouTube's subscriber base.
The integration is part of a new distribution agreement between YouTube and NBCUniversal. Peacock Premium typically includes live sports, next-day access to current NBC and Bravo shows, and original programming. YouTube Premium members will have the option to upgrade to an ad-free version, Peacock Premium Plus.
YouTube Premium, which boasts 125 million global subscribers and offers ad-free viewing with download capabilities, has a base price of $8.99 per month. Peacock Premium's standalone subscription costs $10.99 per month. This bundling strategy reflects a competitive move observed across the streaming industry, where companies are seeking to differentiate through expanded content packages.
