Yuanxin Satellite Scales Constellation to 218 Satellites
Yuanxin Satellite has expanded its satellite network to 218 units following a successful launch that placed 18 new satellites into orbit. The launch took place on July 4, 2026.

Yuanxin Satellite increased its satellite network to a total of 218 units after successfully launching 18 new low-Earth orbit satellites on July 4, 2026. The launch was conducted from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center using a Long March 6A carrier rocket.
The 18 satellites have successfully entered their intended orbits and are reported to be in normal operating condition. One of the deployed satellites, designated SS GEN1-257, has been named "Ping An 24" as part of a brand collaboration, symbolizing round-the-clock global coverage.
The "Qianfan" constellation aims to provide global low-latency, high-speed satellite broadband services. The project is also designed to support future 6G standards and enable seamless connectivity across ground, satellite, airborne, and maritime networks.
The first phase of the "Qianfan" constellation will consist of 648 satellites for regional coverage. A second phase will expand the network to 1,296 satellites for global coverage, with a third phase involving over 15,000 satellites for diverse integrated services.
