The San Francisco law firm Zakay Law Group, APLC has filed a class action complaint against Abode Services, Abode Housing Development, and Abode Property Management. The lawsuit, pending in Alameda County Superior Court, alleges that Abode Services violated California labor law by failing to pay employees for all time worked and by denying them mandated meal and rest breaks.
According to the complaint, Abode Services allegedly violated multiple sections of the California Labor Code. These alleged violations include failure to pay minimum wages and overtime, providing inaccurate wage statements, late payment of wages, and denying employees access to their personnel records. The lawsuit contends that employees were allegedly required to work over four hours without being provided a ten-minute rest break. It further alleges that employees did not receive other statutory breaks depending on the length of their shifts. As a result of these alleged violations, employees were reportedly not compensated for missed breaks.
