Zealot Pictures Denies "Three Kingdoms" Film Withdrawal Rumors
Zealot Pictures has refuted circulating rumors about its latest film, "Three Kingdoms: The War for Luoyang," being pulled from cinemas. The film's box office performance has been below expectations.

Animations studio Zealot Pictures on Tuesday denied online rumors that its latest film, "Three Kingdoms: The War for Luoyang," is being withdrawn from theaters. The film was promoted as being from the same creative team behind the successful "Chang'an" animation.
The movie was released on July 10th as part of the summer film slate. Despite significant promotion, its box office performance has reportedly been lackluster. As of the latest reports, the film has grossed 53.21 million yuan, equivalent to approximately $7.3 million USD.
In response to the speculation, the studio issued a statement: "We believe in the work, we believe in the audience, and we believe in the market." This statement was made to counter the online rumors of a potential withdrawal.
"Three Kingdoms: The War for Luoyang" is the second installment in Zealot Pictures' "New Culture" series, following "Chang'an" in 2023. Critical reception for the film has been largely positive, with its rating on Douban, a popular review platform, increasing from 8.0 to 8.1 shortly after its release.
