Developer Game of Tobi has successfully ported the game "Zelda: Twilight Princess" to the Nintendo New 3DS handheld console, enabling glasses-free 3D playback.
Developer Game of Tobi has achieved a significant milestone by porting the Nintendo classic "Zelda: Twilight Princess" to the Nintendo New 3DS handheld console. The project enables the game to be played in its glasses-free 3D mode.
Originally released in 2006 for the Nintendo GameCube and Wii, "Zelda: Twilight Princess" has seen several re-releases over the years, including a Wii U version in 2016. This latest port utilizes a community-driven decompilation project to create a functional version for the New 3DS.
While the game is now playable on the New 3DS with the 3D effect enabled, the developer reports performance issues, including decreased frame rates and occasional stuttering. The game also exhibits bugs related to texture and asset loading during movement, causing visual glitches.
This development build is currently targeted exclusively for New 3DS models. The developer is actively seeking feedback regarding potential future releases, including whether to prioritize a standard 3DS version later.
