London-based AI lab Zenithon has raised $10 million in a funding round backed by Backed, Lunar, Seraphim, MMC, and SOSV. The company is focused on developing 'world models' that aim to describe the world at a quantum physics level, building AI models that differ from large language models (LLMs).
The company intends to use the capital to grow its team and advance its technology. Zenithon's objective is to create AI systems capable of understanding and predicting the laws of physics at a fundamental level.
Zenithon CEO and founder Ben Su stated that the company plans to hire more researchers and engineers. He highlighted that current LLMs, while capable, do not possess a deep understanding of reality.
"We are committed to exploring new, more effective ways to build AI that more closely resemble human cognition," Su said. The company aims to develop models that can comprehend and forecast complex physical phenomena.
