Zepto Reiterates IPO Plans for May 2027 Listing

Quick commerce company Zepto is once again planning to attempt an IPO, with its cofounder and CEO Aadit Palicha reportedly telling employees that the startup aims to list on exchanges in the next two to three quarters. This places the target listing window between February and May 2027.

The revised timeline comes shortly after reports surfaced that Zepto had deferred its IPO plans. Palicha indicated that the company will proceed once its financial metrics improve and valuation terms become more favorable. Zepto will reportedly not need to refile its draft red herring prospectus (DRHP) from scratch, but will submit an addendum with updated financials to the market regulator SEBI.

This push for a new IPO timeline follows reports that Zepto is seeking to raise approximately ₹1,000 crore (around $105 million) in a pre-IPO funding round. The company has faced challenges with its valuation, with mutual funds reportedly valuing Zepto significantly below its expectations, at $2.5 billion to $3 billion, a notable decrease from its $7 billion private market valuation achieved in October 2025.

Zepto continues to operate in a highly competitive quick commerce landscape, incurring significant expenses on its dark store network, discounts, and customer acquisition. The company reported a widened net loss of ₹5,095 crore in FY26, despite operating revenue nearly doubling to ₹22,624 crore. This is not the first time Zepto has postponed its IPO plans, having previously done so in June 2025 to focus on reducing cash burn and improving profitability.
