Zhang Xue sets world record for motorcycle travel on open water
Motorcycle entrepreneur Zhang Xue has set a Guinness World Record by traveling 40.74 kilometers across open water on a modified MX450 motorcycle.
Zhang Xue, founder of Zhang Xue Motorcycles, achieved a new Guinness World Record on October 25 by navigating a modified MX450 motorcycle for 40.74 kilometers across open water in Hunan Province, China.
The feat represents the conclusion of a 17-year objective for Zhang, who attempted a similar water-crossing stunt in 2009. That earlier attempt ended after just 20 meters. Following three months of technical preparation and structural adjustments to the vehicle, Zhang successfully completed the distance this October.
IT Home has released a three-part documentary series titled "Between Deep and Shallow" to detail the project. The series examines the engineering obstacles faced by the team and contrasts Zhang’s mindset between his initial attempt nearly two decades ago and the recent successful record-breaking run.
