Zhaoke Ophthalmology Limited announced its interim results for the six months ended June 30, 2022. The ophthalmic pharmaceutical company reported achieving multiple milestones in research and commercialization despite challenging global and domestic market conditions.
The company stated that patient recruitment for its Phase III clinical trials of NVK002, a core innovative drug candidate for myopia progression in children and adolescents, was completed significantly ahead of schedule. Recruitment for the "China CHAMP" trial and the "Mini-CHAMP" bridging trial concluded in July 2022, two and three months earlier than planned, respectively.
Additionally, Zhaoke Ophthalmology has launched its first commercialized product, the "Baodeshi" Heat Compress Eyepatch. This Class 2 medical device aims to alleviate symptoms of mild dry eye and is expected to accelerate the company's omni-channel commercialization strategy.
The company also noted that its self-developed innovative drug, CsA Ophthalmic Gel for dry eye disease, has had its New Drug Application (NDA) accepted for review by China's Center for Drug Evaluation (CDE). This marks a step towards the potential commercialization of Zhaoke Ophthalmology's first innovative drug.
Zhaoke Ophthalmology focuses on therapies for a wide range of ophthalmic diseases with a comprehensive portfolio of innovative and generic treatments. The company reported a strong cash position to support ongoing clinical programs and commercialization investments.
