AI company Zhipu reported its MaaS open platform has reached nearly 7 million registered API users. The company also activated over 50,000 domestically developed AI chips to address increasing demand.
AI model provider Zhipu announced that its MaaS open platform has attracted nearly 7 million registered API users, marking a significant increase of approximately 2 million users since early July. These users are accessing the platform's various large language model APIs.
The company has also expanded its computational capacity by activating more than 50,000 Chinese-developed AI chips. This move is aimed at satisfying the growing demand for AI inference services, a critical component of running AI applications.
Zhipu's Coding Plan, previously under restricted access, became available for purchase on July 31. This expansion follows a price adjustment by the company, indicating a strategic move to monetize its growing user base and infrastructure.
The expansion in user numbers and hardware deployment suggests Zhipu's increasing role in China's domestic AI ecosystem, as it caters to a rapidly growing market for AI services and chips.
