Zhone Technologies Acquires Tellabs Access

PLANO, Texas – Zhone Technologies announced on October 1, 2026, that it has completed the acquisition of Tellabs Access, LLC, a provider of optical LAN and broadband access networking solutions serving North America. The terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
The transaction combines two telecommunications technology organizations with complementary products and customer bases. The combined capabilities of Zhone and Tellabs will offer an expanded portfolio of fiber access, Optical LAN, enterprise networking, and broadband solutions. The goal is to help service providers, enterprises, and public sector customers modernize their communications infrastructure.
Tellabs brings an established Optical LAN platform and a significant customer base, particularly within federal government and enterprise sectors, along with extensive networking expertise. The acquisition is expected to accelerate Zhone's growth in government, education, healthcare, transportation, and enterprise networking markets.
