Zoeller Introduces M802 Grinder Pump to Address Increased Wastewater Load from Wipes
Zoeller Pump Company has introduced its M802 grinder pump to meet the growing demand as "flushable" wipes increasingly strain standard residential wastewater systems. These wipes place a heavier load on pumps than traditional toilet paper.
Louisville, Kentucky – Zoeller Pump Company has released the M802 grinder pump, engineered to handle a heavier wastewater load. This release addresses the increased strain on standard residential sewage systems caused by the rising use of "flushable" wipes.
Conventional sewage ejector pumps were designed for an era when waste dissolved quickly. However, many "flushable" wipes currently on the market do not break down effectively. Instead, they can snag on pump blades and impellers, leading to clogs and system failures. In the United States, these wipes contribute an estimated $440 million annually in operating costs for wastewater utilities.
The M802 features Zoeller's Tri-Slice cutter technology, which performs over 250,000 cuts per minute. This process reduces solids to particles approximately 1/8 inch in size, allowing wastewater to pass easily through standard 2-inch discharge lines without causing blockages.
The new pump offers a total dynamic head of up to 29.5 feet and can deliver up to 48 gallons per minute during peak flow periods. Its cast-iron motor housing and oil-filled cooling system are designed for durability and long-term operation. The M802 is available through a nationwide network of distributors.
