Zoom executive highlights AI as operational model for growth

During the Sifted Summit 2026 in London, Andreas Klauser of Zoom addressed the evolving operational needs of Europe’s fastest-growing companies. Klauser argued that sustainable growth is driven by the ability to move from strategy to task completion rapidly, utilizing AI to maintain operational discipline without requiring excessive headcount.

Klauser noted that AI is shifting from a buzzword in pitch decks to a functional requirement for scaling. By leveraging technology for meeting summaries and workflow tracking, companies of 50 employees can now operate with the structural efficiency previously reserved for much larger enterprises. He cited data from the Sifted 250 report, which highlights a significant rise in AI-native companies and high revenue growth among lean, technology-driven teams.

Ultimately, Klauser suggested that while AI changes the economics of scaling, it elevates the importance of human talent. As powerful tools become standard, the primary differentiator for companies remains the quality of their people and the internal communication loops that dictate how effectively they execute their business models.
