Zuellig Pharma expands clinical supply operations in China

Zuellig Pharma has acquired a specialized clinical supply facility in Hangzhou, China, aimed at enhancing its capacity to support both domestic and international clinical trials. The site holds a Drug Distribution License (DDL), allowing the firm to perform local sourcing of comparator drugs and concomitant medications within the Chinese market.

Situated in a key biopharmaceutical innovation hub in the Yangtze River Delta, the facility serves as an addition to the company's existing clinical network, which includes a depot in Beijing. The infrastructure features cold-chain capabilities and temperature-controlled environments, ranging from sub-zero to ambient conditions, designed to maintain the integrity of clinical trial materials.

CEO John Graham stated that the investment is intended to address the growing role of China in global drug development. By providing local sourcing and distribution, Zuellig Pharma aims to streamline clinical logistics, facilitate VAT savings for sponsors, and reduce cycle times for multi-regional clinical trials.
