Zuellig Pharma expands clinical supply operations with Hangzhou facility acquisition
Healthcare firm Zuellig Pharma has acquired a specialized clinical supply facility in Hangzhou, China, to improve local sourcing and logistics for regional and international clinical trials.

Zuellig Pharma has acquired a specialized clinical supply facility in Hangzhou, China, granting the company a Drug Distribution License. This permit allows the organization to conduct local sourcing of comparator drugs and concomitant medications, a process designed to simplify billing and offer tax efficiencies for clinical trial sponsors.
Located in the Yangtze River Delta biopharmaceutical hub, the facility strengthens Zuellig Pharma’s regional logistics network, which already includes a clinical depot in Beijing. The new site features cold-chain infrastructure capable of maintaining temperature ranges from -20°C to 25°C, ensuring compliance with international product integrity standards.
CEO John Graham stated that the acquisition is intended to address the growing importance of the Chinese market in global drug development. By integrating local distribution capabilities, the company aims to reduce lead times for multi-regional clinical trials while ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
