Bureau Veritas saa uuden roolin vedyn sertifioinnissa

Certification and assurance company Bureau Veritas has been designated as an official certification body for the CertifHy EU RFNBO (Renewable Fuels of Non-Biological Origin) Voluntary Scheme. This expansion allows Bureau Veritas to certify renewable fuels derived from non-biological sources, such as renewable hydrogen and its derivatives, produced from renewable electricity.
The CertifHy EU RFNBO scheme, which is aligned with the European Renewable Energy Directive (RED) and recognized by the European Commission, focuses on verifying the supply chain transparency and traceability of these fuels. It ensures that production meets strict criteria, including a minimum 70% greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction compared to fossil alternatives.
This designation marks Bureau Veritas' second collaboration with CertifHy, following its recognition for the CertifHy Non-Governmental Certification (NGC) scheme in 2023. The company's expanded role is expected to support the decarbonization of hard-to-abate sectors by providing assurance for renewable hydrogen and derivative fuels.
Laurence Boisramé, Global Director Hydrogen and CCUS at Bureau Veritas, stated that the recognition reflects the company's commitment to trust and transparency in the clean hydrogen sector. Matthieu Boisson, Managing Director of CertifHy, added that the partnership with Bureau Veritas, a leader in verification services, is crucial for enabling the market for certified hydrogen and e-fuels.
