Journalism Award for Humanitarian Aid: Application Period Closed

Aktion Deutschland Hilft e.V. has announced that the application period for its Journalism Award for Humanitarian Aid has concluded. Interested journalists can no longer submit entries for this cycle.

The award aims to recognize journalistic work focused on humanitarian aid. Specific eligibility criteria were outlined for potential applicants, including age limits, journalistic training, and a focus on German-language reporting or work for German-speaking media.

Applicants were required to be between 21 and 29 years old and possess a journalistic education or equivalent work experience. German citizenship and residency in Germany were generally required, though exceptions were made for those temporarily abroad who could still travel and meet participation requirements.

Those who create content using artificial intelligence were permitted to do so, provided it was clearly and transparently labeled within the submission. The award rules also stipulated that successful applicants grant Aktion Deutschland Hilft and its partners royalty-free, unlimited rights to use submitted materials for reporting on the award itself, with proper attribution to the creators.
