Shanghai Port achieved a new domestic record on July 26 for the number of vehicles loaded onto a single ship, with 7,738 new energy vehicles (NEVs) being exported. The record was set aboard two Chinese-manufactured car carriers, the "Glow-Marine Navigator" and the "Glow-Marine Nova," which docked at the Shanghai South Port Terminal.

The vessels, built by Guangzhou Shipyard International, are designed to carry 10,800 standard vehicles and are powered by LNG dual-fuel engines, positioning them among the leading car carriers globally in their class. The "Glow-Marine Navigator" was returning from a voyage, while the newly delivered "Glow-Marine Nova" embarked on its maiden voyage from Shanghai.

This shipment of NEVs is destined for the port of Zeebrugge, Belgium, from where they will be distributed across various European markets. The export underscores China's growing role in the global automotive supply chain, particularly in the burgeoning electric vehicle sector.

This event highlights the increasing capacity and sophistication of Chinese shipbuilding and port logistics in handling large-scale international automotive exports. The vessels themselves represent advancements in green shipping technology, meeting stringent environmental standards for global trade.
