Singapore is a hub for business events alongside Formula 1
Singapore hosted over 40 business events during the recent Formula 1 Grand Prix week, marking a significant increase from previous years. The events attracted a large international contingent.

Singapore has solidified its position as a major international business event destination, with over 40 conferences and summits held concurrently with the recent Formula 1 Grand Prix. This represents a substantial rise from the 25 events held during the race week in 2025 and signifies a growing trend for the city-state.
The cluster of high-profile events, which included the Milken Institute Asia Summit, TOKEN2049, and the Forbes Global CEO Conference, drew a significant number of international executives and investors. Data from the Singapore Tourism Board indicates that more than 40 business events took place around the Grand Prix period this year.
The TOKEN2049 cryptocurrency conference saw a notable increase in international participation, with overseas attendees making up 85.6% of the total, up from 82.7% in the previous year. Notably, Chinese attendees constituted 11.8% of the participants, almost doubling their share from 2025 and surpassing American attendees as the largest international group.
The convergence of major business forums with the Formula 1 race leverages the city's high profile and existing travel infrastructure. This strategy aims to maximize the economic benefits of both sectors. The Singapore Tourism Board has observed that business event visitors typically have a higher spending capacity compared to leisure tourists.
The overall impact of these events is also reflected in the hospitality sector. Reports indicate high occupancy rates at luxury hotels, such as Marina Bay Sands, during the race week, underscoring the combined economic stimulus provided by major international gatherings and sporting events.
